Desfile Navideño

This afternoon was Tactic’s Christmas parade sponsored by the local savings and loan cooperative. The parade had a handful of Santas and some girls dressed as elves, but other than that it seemed as if people just raided a costume closet and dressed in whatever they could find. It was entertaining.

Bikers leading the parade.
Santa and a gorilla.

A local pharmacy throwing out free medicine instead of candy.

Pollo Campero with penguins.

Vikings and a rabbit?

Vandals?

A frog and a chipmunk?

Satan and "Lil' Red"?

Sounds like a typical night on Sixth Street in Austin. ;)

Lesson learned the hard way in Austin:

Unlike in Guatemala where they’ll give a beer to anyone who orders it, in the United States they actually require an identification before you can receive your alcoholic beverage. Having not had to verify my age in over a year here, bringing along my ID for a night out in Austin when I was back in the states for your wedding was a minor detail I forgot:)
